During this Covid-19 pandemic it has been impossible to get out and about to enjoy exhibitions. Even street art has not always been possible to enjoy because some of us can't get out and about and some of us are nervous to do so!
For that reason we decided to add some virtual art experiences to our website ... we hope you enjoy them ...

Artemisia Gentileschi - National Gallery
3 October 2020 - 24 January 2021
I must say from the start the above exhibition is unfortunately NOT online. The National Gallery had proposed this exhibition for April 2020 but due to Covid-19 it was postponed and is now about to open. However for those of us who do not wish to venture far and will not be going to the exhibition I have put a couple of links below to give you a flavour of this sensational, determined, ambitious, successful baroque female artist of the 16th century.
Famous in her own lifetime but neglected in the history of art she has, in recent years, become acknowledged and admired for her work and is one of the greatest baroque artists ever irrespective of her gender.
If you would like to take an hour out and watch this YouTube video of Michael Palin's endeavour's to find the real Artemisia click here
If you would like to get a flavour of the exhibition this is another YouTube short video of Letizia Treves (curator) being interviewed by Tracy Jones click here
If you would like to have a peek at the Gentileschi work on offer at the museum click here for some highlights.

SPITALFIELDS LIFE - THE GENTLE AUTHOR
For some time now I have been in contact with this amazing bookshop and its daily updates about the East End of London ...... but it is so much more than a bookshop.
The Gentle Author has made it his personal challenge to write 10,000 posts about the life and times in and around the area of Spitalfields in London which should take him through to 2037! He walks everywhere and there is no shortage of material for endless stories about this melting pot of humanity. Amusing, heart breaking, thought provoking and always entertaining .... a joy to read especially during these difficult times.
Amongst these stories there are also book recommendations and of course books for sale. There are also many art exhibitions of otherwise somewhat unknow artists. Click here to take a look at the website, I challenge you NOT to find anything that does not delight you ......
