L ... is a local artist and printer. She enjoys experimenting with mixed media and printing techniques. She has a BA Fine Arts Hons 2010
P … has always been interested in art and many handicrafts and was hoping retirement would allow more time to be creative. She is still hoping!! but enjoys Monday Studio
A … has been painting and creating art since retiring from nursing. She joined art classes and mixed with like minded people and discovered what enjoyment there is in creating and experimenting with all types of media.
K … has been painting for many years. For most of this time she has used watercolour and has painted a variety of subjects. She also paints in other mediums: gouache, acrylics and oils.
R … is a watercolourist and has become a portrait artist after appearing on Sky Portrait Artist of the Year in 2022. However, he is equally happy painting buildings, pets and landscapes.
T … is an amateur artist. His work is mostly representational using watercolour as his preferred medium.
E … started painting 8 years ago; she has always been interested in fabric design, dress making and quilting and now enjoys watercolour painting. She is now looking forward to experimenting with other painting mediums.
R … loves all things creative; painting, crafting, sewing and painting. She paints primarily in watercolour but recently has turned her hand to acrylics, enjoying the boldness, texture and strong colours of the medium. Her subject choices ar varied but in particular like nature: birds, animals and flowers
M … is originally from Japan, she spent her youth in USA and has lived in England for over 30 years. She specialises in portraiture of animals and people in pastel which gives her an immediacy of colour and applying pastel feels like a natural extension to her fingers. She also enjoys landscape for which she explores different styles and media. Through her art, she aims to capture the spirit of her subjects where she often finds humour in their unique situations. J … from childhood she ‘could draw’ and after a career in engineering, technical and publishing illustration on retirement took up drawing for pleasure. Painting, however, was a new and challenging experience. With the help of various workshops and the friendship of the talented and likeminded artists of Comberton Monday Studio has enjoyed experimenting with abstract, various printing methods, collage and mixed media
S … has always had a creative instinct and is fascinated by the endless possibilities of mixed media. Painting, textiles and found objects, set in symbiosis with each other, for the viewer to see the vision for themselves.
C … has loved drawing and painting from childhood, but only since retirement has had the time to concentrate in her art. She loves to paint wildlife and nature from her own photographic references. She also likes the challenge of urban scenes using pen and ink. Although self-taught has joined various art sessions which has enabled her to dabble in a variety of mediums.
S … after many years of painting detailed botanics in watercolour recently arthritis has got the better of her hands. She now paints abstract acrylics and is thoroughly enjoying the challenge.
N … is a newcomer to Comberton, an ex- Aerospace engineer, amateur cyclist and sailor who on retirement turned to Veteran Bicycle Collecting, restoring and riding. Now in his eighties he has recently taken to painting alongside more sedate riding and walking.
